The Faces

I have always been well aware that there are many persons in this world who live unfortunate lives...lives much different than mine.  These images were held in an area of my subconscious....abstract, remote, uncomfortable.

Now the images have faces.  Faces that haunt my thoughts, my dreams.  Images from a world so totally opposite from the one in which I live have taken hold of my psyche.  They are with me to stay.  I will never take a single moment of my life for granted.  It can all change in a matter of seconds.  I know this to be true.  It's in the faces, the faces of Haiti......

Thanks Bev, for posting this, now if I can see to type or make a coherent sentence. It makes me what to chuck it all and go over there to work.

Wow!!
Thanks

God bless you and your husband and your group for going to the aid of Haiti. It breaks my heart to see the destruction and the people of Haiti trying to continue living with such destruction all around them. Things can indeed change in the twinkling of an eye. You are an angel.

It is when we see how others live, that we appreciate how much we have. I know that you appreciate what you have. I am glad that you had the opportunity to help those people in need. The people in Haiti are fortunate that there are caring people such as yourself, your husband, and the other medical teams, and people who came to Haiti to help.

Bev,
We have never met but your husband has performed two surgeries on my knee. I spoke to him yesterday at Holy Spirit about his trip to Haiti, and he pointed me to your blog. I am going to Haiti with a medical team in June. I found your blog most helpful in preparing me, mentally, for what lies ahead. Thank you for going to the time to present your experience. I am most impressed with your humanitary efforts and humble hearts. God bless you and Jack. With great respect, Andrew Moyer
